Who We Are
Ice Cream for the Soul (ICFTS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of nursing home residents through joyful, music-filled ice cream socials. Founded in 2017 by Verlena Sexton (a registered nurse specializing in geriatric care) and Karen J. Sundaes on Sunday
Every Sunday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, our volunteers host joyful ice cream socials for nursing home residents. Each event features creamy vanilla ice cream, a wide selection of toppings, and a curated playlist of love-themed songs from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. It’s more than just dessert — it’s music, nostalgia, and community rolled into one sweet experience.
